The Protected Designation of Origin
The bouchot mussels of the Bay of Mont Saint Michel is distinguished by a PDO : Protected Designation of Origin. The season starts in July and ends in January / February. The PDO is a guarantee of origin, quality, controls, traceability and security.

The Mont Saint Michel Bay
Our mussels grow on bouchots in the Bay of Mont Saint Michel.
This is an exceptionally favourable environment for growing mussels, as the tides here are the strongest in Europe.
This makes the area extremely rich in nutrients, ideal for growing mussels.
This natural bounty gives bouchot mussels their distinctive flavour, recognised by the most discerning gourmets.
